plzzz someone can give me information about my baitcaster?
I just bought a low profile reel Shakespeare. Transmission has a ratio of 6:3:1 and a bearing system, 4. Is that good or bad? I mainly fish for bluegills, bass, and about 15 pounds catfish. Also, what type of rod should I buy? has the effect of the bar of my performance? AND 1 more thing, how attract me to shed some light with my baitcaster without birdnests get? plz answer as many of my questions as possible. Thanx a lot EVERY1
Congratulations on your new Bait Casting Reel! 4 ball bearings offers very good performance. As a general rule, 3 ball bearings and nothing more is good. You bought a high speed / retrieve reel. A gear ratio of 6.3:1, it simply means that when you turn the reel handle once, only line recovered 6.3 times as much. So keep that in mind. If you are working templates and want to do it gradually, should be aware of their relationship. If you're fast burning Spinner baits, this will make a large coil. A high gear ratio also helps to save time when it teeters on the line to re-cast. In short, it is better to have a high gear ratio as you, as always you can fish more slowly - but if I had a reel of low ratio, would have to work much harder to catch a quick. Hopefully your reel has instant anti-reverse. What this means is, when it lurches toward below, should be able to stop and if they tried to reel back at that point, there would be no game. Instant anti reverse means that the reel does not get "shocked" each time the hook - so your gear will stay in the lineup and the reel will last much longer! As for the bars, they do effect performance. In his case, because you are fishing for such a diverse range of fish, from small to large Pan Fish & bass, catfish, better go with a medium action, 6 1 / 2 stick foot.
