What is clicker on the reel for my Avet JX conventional?
I just purchased my first conventional reel in place and wondered Avet jx what is the "clicker" is used. I'm a rookie with this type of reel because I was fishing spin casting reels all my life.
Avets are generally used for strong offshore fish such as tuna and yellowtail, which are usually live-bait fishing outside of Southern California and Baja California. Most of the time you are fishing have to wait to eat something, holding your outfit with the reel in freespool, feeding off-line as the bait and no maintenance thumb coil is out of line too early and backlashing. When a fish bites, you will get faster, you put the reel in the march and the hook. The clicker is used to keep the line coming out very easily if you have to put the bar below. If a fish chooses that moment to bite, they'll start pulling against the line by clicker, you'll pick up the rod and bait fish. If the reel was freespool, the line would stretch too fast and reaction (tangle) and fish rod will pull the water (which I've seen it happen) and if you leave the reel in the march, the same would happen faster (I saw that, too). If you are towed, leaving the coil up in the headline or tied to the railing with all the drag and the clicker as an alarm. However, an Avet JX is a bit small for trawling in high seas. It is also used in the same way, if you have the rod in a holder while fishing pier or surf, but I do not want to use a Avet for that. Of However, except for drag rarely use the clicker on any reel.
