Does anybody know if the famous banjo minnow really catches fish?

Has anybody ever caught walleye with it?

I was once stuck without a proper lure on a camping trip , (I had forgot my "Soft Plastic's" bag but had all my other normal hard/terminal tackle).

What to do?

I sliced up a pair of green Columbia shorts, (and some old blue jeans), into 6-7" strips, soaked the strips in fish attractant and fished it Texas-style, (like any other plastic worm or Jerk bait).

It WORKED! It caught fish!

The point? Many things work to catch fish.

The Banjo will work.

However, the REAL Question is ,"What other LESS EXPENSIVE, EASILY ATTAINABLE, lures would work as well?"

Banjo Minnows are a form of lure called a "Jerk Bait". Although, Banjo's have a cool "fish-looking form", (and a convincing commercial), it's the action of the lure that promotes the strike.

I've seen the infomercial for Banjo. In certain places, during certain times, even a 6" piece of cloth can be the "booyah" lure.

Do you know WHERE they filmed the Banjo infomercial?

They filmed on lakes in Canada. Deep-woods, Canadian lakes Pike/Bass will hit a stick if wagged in their face long enough. (I know, I live about 5 hours from Canada!)

Other issues with the Banjo?

Once you've used up all the plastic body's they are hard to find and VERY expensive to replace.

Think about this: Do you believe every commercial that comes on the TV?

Then why would you believe the Banjo Minnow commercial?

Hope this helps clarify why you should NOT buy into infomercial lures?
