How far can a boat stick out of the back of our truck in Michigan?
I cannot seem to find how far is the legal limit for a small boat to stick out of the bed of our truck. We are looking to buy a small boat for fishing and would really rather not hassle with a trailer if we don't need to. Obviously we would attach a red flag to it. If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
suggest that you contact your highway patrol office for the answer. i looked through the michigan state laws but could not find the answer (see below)
here is a copy of the michigan state truck drivers guide, it states any overhang of 4' or more must be properly flaged
