Umbrella Rig

Tiki torches, cloths, necklaces of flowers and lots of music, food and entertainment? It's a luau, the traditional Hawaiian feast that became synonymous with good times.
The Hawaiian word "Luau" may be technically defined as a party, but so much more. A real Luau Hawaiian tradition took months to plan and prepare, because it is a community gathering and a contest of skill and intelligence. So allow plenty of time and establish a budget as a guideline for the party.
Start by planning to hold Luau an outside because it would be authentic Hawaiian culture. If the palms do not grow in the region, established certain cuts and think the addition of some brilliant tropical flowers in pots. Decorate the party area with tiki torches, shells, fishing nets, cloth, colorful banners - Nothing to suggest the atmosphere, bright and warm in the archipelago. Make sure the settings are mobile in case the party must move inside for some reason.
Let customers know well in advance of the Hawaiian Luau theme. Emphasize that the dress is casual Tropic - Hawaiian shirts and baggie shorts, Muu-Muus, sarongs and sandals, straw hats and bikini tops and cloth. Greet each guest with a flower lei (if the real budget allows, silk if the cost is a problem). Remember an Aloha "hot!"
For drinks, there is no problem - Tropical cocktails like Mai Tais, piña coladas and daiquiris are a perfect choice, especially if presented in the shells of coconuts. Be sure to serve of non-alcoholic cocktails, iced tea or fruit punch for minors crowd and those who do not drink alcohol. Top of all drinks with umbrellas in colorful little cocktail.
Menus center Luau on generous portions of roast meats and side dishes, particularly fruit pieces. Roasting a pig roast on the spit backyard will impress guests, but only experience (or brave) cooks should try this delicacy. Check with a local butcher about getting a pig to roast.
Other options menu of chicken, pork, beef or fish, often marinated in teriyaki sauce and grilled on the barbecue. Teriyaki sauce savory-sweet flavor also makes a wonderful dipping sauce. Ultimately, there is always a pineapple and clove-studded ham, but try to think at least one unusual recipe.
A Real Fun Luau includes music, dance and games of skill and strength. Again, if the budget allows, it may be a social club for local residents of the Pacific Islands with a group dance would appreciate receiving a gift. They may even teach guests the hula. Platform game with a Hawaiian theme, such as "Pin the Tail on the Piggy" "Bobbing for fish" swimming in a wading pool, or "Hot Coconut" instead of "hot potato". Young children can string their own leis with plastic flowers and line fishing, while older children and adults can participate in contests javelin (make sure that the ends are blunt). For the price, small little toys will love tropical theme, while adults will probably appreciate the bags of coffee Kona soil (especially if they were too Mai Tais).
Most of all, a Hawaiian luau to enjoy good food and good company. So put the music islands, donning a grass skirt and get in the spirit of the South Pacific.
